Hey guys! Happy Thanksgiving!! In honor of the blog and y'know... this, I'll give some tips for starting blogs and blogging, ones I'd wanted to know when I was 9-10 :')
1. Decorate your blog
If you want to attract people to your blog, you have to change up the template & make it look nice and presentable. There are many tutorials for making your blog look nice and pretty, so do it!
2. Keep posting!
Don't give up if no one reads your blog - the longer you post, the more it will appear on search engines and count as relevant. Remember, short and brief posts are better than none at all :D
3. Don't do giveaways or social activities until you have a fanbase
One reason people are discouraged by blogging is because nobody participates in their giveaways. Make sure at least 5 people are actively on the blog before making a giveaway/social activity! You can say on a sidebar or a blog post, you will do giveaways !!!in the near future!!! if your fan activity is high.
4. Advertise
This was a major drawback in my blog. I did not advertise. Go around your school, tell your friends to check out the blog, advertise on public forums. Any place that is allowed for advertising... Advertise! Give out small incentives for loyal fans who come on often.
5. If Blogger isn't working, try something else
Blogger may not be the flashiest and modern blogging platform to use, but it is easy to set up and quickly makes a blog. I had another site on Wix in which got so much more views and interactions! Wix is also easy to use, but has a lot of customization and will take you a long time for a good blog. but it's worth it! Wordpress did take me some time to completely get the hang of, but it serves as the FanTage blog "icon." Most FanTagians use this to blog. Weebly, I have no experience with, but some people do use it, it's like Wordpress, apparently.
